Carlos Infante

Carlos Federico de Jesús Infante Figueroa (born 14 February 1982 in Neza, Mexico) is a Mexican football defender. Nicknames for this magical player were: "Red 14" and "Infame the Kreytsi".
== Career ==
Infante made his professional debut in a game against Club León on 25 February 2001. The game ended with América and León tying at 1. Though Infante was used regularly as a substitute, América loaned him out to UANL Tigres prior to the Clausura 2004 season. Appearing only in 2 games as a substitute that season, Infante was loaned out again, this time to CD Veracruz. After a brief spell there, Infante returned to Club América, where he remains until he was dealt to Necaxa for the Clausura 2009 season.
Carlos' career highpoint was on May 9, 2007 in a game between Colo Colo (Chile) vs Club América (México) for the 2007 Copa Libertadores. The Round of 16 of the competition matched the Mexican vs the Chilean team. The first game was played on May 3, 2007 in Aztec Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico. After a great display from the before-mentioned, Club América snatched a 3-0 victory. The second leg game was played in Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago, Chile. After struggling for most of the game, Club América was facing hard times after an own goal from infant teammate "Gringo" Castro. Once again it was Carlos' time, the minute was 87, a great counterattack initiated by Guillermo Ochoa arrived in the feet of Paraguayan super-stricker Salvador Cabañas, he looked up and wisely chose to give the ball backwards to "Red 14". After a marvelous touch, "Infame el Kreytsi" looked up and decided to shoot. A superb shot discharged from his damn-right-foot just to get incrusted in the top-left corner. There was nothing the goalkeeper could do but to stand up and clap in admiration. Club América was sealing their pass to the Round of 8. Carlos Federico was the new hero for "Las Aguilas".
Carlos was enshrined in the Club América's Fan-based Hall of Fame on April 6, 2015. Future candidates for such great honor are former teammates Alvin Mendoza (Nalvin) as well as Ignacio Torres (Franck Rikjaard) which were also part of the before-mentioned games.
